On May 21, Prince Edward Island conducted its fifth draw of the year, issuing 114 invitations to candidates working in in-demand occupations and priority sectors within the province.
The draw marks the fifth consecutive month PEI has adhered to its anticipated invitation schedule, with the province consistently issuing more than a hundred invitations monthly to immigration candidates.

The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) sent out a total of 114 invitations to qualifying provincial nominee candidates.
These were issued through two pathways (the only pathways targeted this year so far), including:
The province targeted individuals currently working in the province in priority sectors and occupations seen as having a high economic impact.
International student graduates from three post-secondary institutions in PEI were also prioritized in the selection process:
- University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI);
- Holland College; and
- Collège de l’Île.
The PEI PNP has maintained the same selection criteria for all five draws it has held in 2026.
This latest draw aligns with the province’s anticipated invitation to apply schedule, which lists tentative dates for when draws will take place throughout the year. Of the five draws held so far in 2026, four have taken place on the exact date listed in the schedule — with only the March 20 draw deviating by one day from its originally scheduled date of March 19.
PEI is the only Canadian province or territory to publicly release its annual draw schedule in advance, giving candidates greater transparency to plan their immigration journey.
To date, the province has invited a total of 477 candidates to apply for provincial nomination in 2026.

If PEI follows its anticipated schedule, the next draws are expected to take place on June 18 and July 16, 2026. The province notes that these dates are for general informational purposes only and not guaranteed.
How to be considered through the PEI PNP
All individuals wishing to immigrate through the PEI PNP must create an account on the province’s website and submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to be assessed by the province.
PEI’s Office of Immigration will assess each candidate based on their likelihood of meeting local economic and labour market needs.
A variety of factors are considered under the PEI EOI system, including the following:
- Language proficiency (English or French);
- Education: level, field of study, and location of completion;
- Level of skill and work experience;
- Strategic priorities: attributes that will address urgent labour market needs within the province; and
- Other factors relevant to employment prospects, which can include (but are not limited to) possessing a job offer within the province and/or having worked in Canada.
Once you submit your profile, you can check its status by logging in to the EOI system, where any changes can be found on your home screen.
Those who are invited will have 30 calendar days to submit a complete application for provincial nomination — a reduction from the prior 60-day window.
Once you receive a provincial nomination, you can apply to the federal government for permanent residence.
