IRCC issues 6,000 ITAs in third-largest Express Entry draw of the year

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued more invitations to apply (ITA) through the Express Entry system. The immigration department issued 6,000 ITAs in a draw for candidates with French-language proficiency.

To be considered in this draw, candidates needed to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 416.

Today’s draw marks the third-largest Express Entry selection that IRCC has held thus far in 2025. The second and the first-largest were also French-language proficiency draws, occuring on February 19, and March 21, respectively.

Candidates with French-language proficiency have also received the most ITAs of any Express Entry candidates, totaling 36,000 invitations as of this draw. IRCC’s commitment to inviting candidates with French language proficiency to settle in Canada (outside Quebec) is tied to its mandate under Canada’s Official Languages Act.

Today’s draw is the seventh of October, and follows a Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw on October 28, a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) on October 27, and a Healthcare and social services draw on October 15.

Thus far, IRCC has issued 80,485 ITAs through the Express Entry system in 2025.

Express Entry draws this year have primarily focused on PNP draws, with the remainder of Express Entry ITAs dedicated to CEC candidates, candidates with French-language proficiency, and those in the Express Entry priority occupation categories:
